Effects of T Cell Immunoglobulin and Mucin Domain Protein-3 on T Cells in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of T immunoglobulin and mucin domain protein-3 on T cells in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This study selected 72 patients with type 2 diabetes from January 2017 to December 2019 and 55 healthy controls as the control group to compare the expression of TIM-3 in T cells. The relative expression of cytokines was compared between the two groups. To further compare the relative expression of cytokines and transcription factors stimulated by anti TIM-3 antibody on T cells of diabetic patients. Results: The contents of CD4+T and CD8+T cells in diabetic group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05); diabetic group had lower INF-γ、IL-4、IL-17、IL-22 content than control group. The IL-10、IL-35 content of diabetic group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The content of TNF-α、INF-γ in diabetic group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05). The INF-γ、IL-17、IL-22 content of diabetic patients stimulated by anti-antibody TIM-3 was significantly higher than that of non-antibody stimulated diabetic patients. The IL-35 content of diabetic patients after anti-antibody stimulation was significantly lower than that of non-antibody stimulation diabetic patients (P<0.05). The TNF-α、INF-γ content of diabetic patients after anti-antibody stimulation was higher than that of non-antibody stimulation diabetic patients (P<0.05). Conclusion: The expression of T cell surface mucin domain protein-3 is increased in diabetic patients. The content will rise, and may be involved in the cellular regulatory function T type 2 diabetes patients.
