Abstract Objective: To evaluate the feasibility, efficacy and safety of single channel laparoscopic needle insertion for pediatric patients with patent closure without closure of the sheath. Method: A retrospective analysis of 65 males from January 2016 to April 2017 was performed. There were 32 cases of needle insertion under the umbilicus and 33 cases of traditional open surgery. The clinical data of the two groups were compared. The operation time, bleeding volume, incision length, hospitalization time, treatment cost, scrotal swelling and postoperative complications were recorded. Results: Transumbilical single channel laparoscopic Crochet in the operation time, bleeding volume, incision length and hospitalization time were better than the open group, but the cost of hospitalization was higher than that of the traditional open surgery group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The postoperative complications compared with no significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion: In addition to the advantages of traditional laparoscopic surgery, the new technique has the advantages of simple operation, no special equipment, easy popularization and so on. It has great clinical practical value.
