Relationship between Serum Uric Acid and Serum PA Levels and SLE Activity and Kidney Damage |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum uric acid and serum prealbumin (PA) levels and the degree of activity and kidney damage in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Methods: 66 SLE patients diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2016 to December 2016 were retrospectively selected as the study subjects.According to the SLEDAI score,they were divided into the mildly active group (25),the moderately active group (21),and the severely active group (20).The differences in clinical data,serum uric acid and serum PA among the three groups were compared,and the relationship between serum uric acid and PA with SLE activity and kidney damage was analyzed by Logistic regression.Results: Serum uric acid level SLE mild activity group<moderate activity group<severe activity group,serum PASLE mild activity group>moderate activity group>severe activity group,the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).Pearson's correlation results showed that serum uric acid was positively correlated with SLEDAI score (P<0.01),and serum PA was negatively correlated with SLEDAI score (P<0.01).Among the other 66 SLE patients,46 had LN,of which 56.52% (26/46) had normal renal function and 43.48% (20/46) had abnormal renal function.Single-factor results showed that the differences of Hb,TG,eGFR,Scr and serum uric acid in the normal and abnormal renal function groups were statistically significant (P<0.05),while the differences of serum PA level between the two groups were not statistically significant (P>0.05).Binary Logistic regression analysis showed that Hb,TG,eGFR and serum uric acid were all related influencing factors for renal damage in patients with LN (B=-3.126,3.623,-4.143,4.464,P<0.05) .Conclusion: Serum uric acid and serum PA are closely related to the activity level of SLE,both of which can be used as indicators of SLE activity.Serum uric acid was a related factor of renal damage,but no correlation between renal damage and serum PA was found.
