Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the giant neurilemmoma of the mediastinum. Methods: The clinical data and follow-up data of 10 cases of giant neurilemmoma were analyzed retrospectively. Results:In 10 patients with giant schwannoma of the mediastinum, 8 were male and 2 were female. All the tumors were completely removed. The pathology proved to be neurilemmoma. There was no serious complication after operation without surgical death. After 1 months of operation, 2 patients were admitted again to hospital for a large amount of pleural effusion and dyspnea, and were discharged after closed thoracic drainage. Conclusion: Surgery is the main method for the treatment of giant nerve schwannoma in the mediastinum. Should pay more attention on pulmonary edema, respiratory failure and other complications of postoperative.
