Abstract Objective: To explore the effect of double catheter technique in the interventional treatment of intracranial wide necked aneurysms. Methods: 42 patients with intracranial wide necked aneurysms admitted in our hospital from January 2013 to March 2016 were selected as the subjects. According to the difference of treatment methods, all the patients were divided into two groups: the observation group and the control group. The observation group was treated by double micro catheter intervention, and the control group was treated with stent assisted therapy. The time of two groups of hospitalization and the neurological deficit (NIHSS) score, living activity (ADL) score, Glasgow prognosis score, and the incidence of complications after 6 months after treatment were observed. Results: There was no significant difference in NIHSS scores and ADL scores between the two groups (P > 0.05); The good recovery rate of the two groups was equal (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in mortality, survival rate and disability rate (P>0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group (14.29%) was lower than that in the control group (33.33%), P<0.05. Conclusion: Double microcatheter technique and stent assisted embolization are effective in the treatment of intracranial wide necked aneurysms, but double microcatheter interventional therapy can reduce the incidence of complications.
