Effect of Bronchoalveolar Lavage with Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy on Cytomegalovirus Pneumonia in Children |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of bronchoalveolar lavage with fiberoptic bronchoscope on cytomegalovirus (CMV) pneumonia. Methods: 150 cases of CMV pneumonia in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2019 were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the order of admission. The control group was treated with conventional treatment, and the observation group was treated with bronchofiberscope alveolar lavage on the basis of the control group. The sputum bacterial clearance rate, inflammatory factors and curative effect were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The fever time and hospitalization time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, and the score of pulmonary infection after treatment was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significan (P<0.05). There were no serious complications in the observation group. Conclusion: Bronchoalveolar lavage with fiberoptic bronchoscope can improve the positive rate of sputum bacterial culture in children with CMV pneumonia, guide early precise treatment, significantly reduce airway hyperresponsiveness, accelerate bacterial clearance, improve the condition and shorten the course of disease.
