The Relationship Between Serum GGT CysC and Hs-CRP Levels and Prognosis in Patients with Corpulmonale Complicated by Respiratory Failure |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), cystatin C (CysC) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels and prognosis in patients with corpulmonale complicated by respiratory failure. Methods: 95 patients with corpulmonale complicated by respiratory failure (observation group) treated in the hospital between February 2017 and January 2020, and 50 healthy subjects (control group) received physical examination in this hospital during the same period were enrolled in this study. Serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP levels in the two groups were detected and compared. According to the condition during hospitalization and within 24 hours after discharge, the patients were divided into survival group and death group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis of relevant factors affecting the patients’ prognosis was performed. Results: Serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP levels were higher in the death group than in the survival group (P<0.05). Serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP were influencing factors of death in patients with corpulmonale complicated by respiratory failure (P<0.05). Conclusion: Serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP levels in patients with corpulmonale complicated by respiratory failure are relatively higher, which are correlated with the prognosis. Clinically, the prognosis can be assessed by monitoring serum GGT, CysC and hs-CRP levels in patients.
