Abstract Objective: To study the efficacy and safety of pregabalin combined with intradermal injection in the treatment of acute herpetic pain and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of 195 patients with acute herpes zoster pain and postherpetic neuralgia hospitalized in the Pain Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from January 2014 to August 2018. Among them, 68 patients suffered from acute herpes zoster pain and 127 patients suffered from postherpetic neuralgia. After admission, all patients were treated with oral pregabalin combined with intradermal injection. Visual analogue scale (VAS) and quality of sleep (QS) were observed before treatment, 7 days, 14 days, 1 month and 3 months after treatment. The therapeutic effect and adverse reactions were analyzed comprehensively. Results: The VAS score was significantly lower (P<0.01) and the quality of sleep was significantly improved (P<0.01) after 7 days, 14 days, 1 month and 3 months treatment .No serious adverse reactions was observed during the treatment. Conclusion: Oral prebahrain combined with intradermal injection has significant clinical effect on both acute herpetic pain and PHN, and can significantly improve the patients' sleep quality with less adverse reactions.It is worthy of clinical promotion.
