Effect of Liujunzi Decoction on Lung and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome in Stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Its Influence on Lung Function and Blood Gas Analysis |

Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of Liujunzi Decoction on lung and spleen deficiency syndrome in stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its influence on lung function and blood gas analysis. Methods: From January 2017 to January 2018, 112 patients with stable COPD with deficiency of both lung and spleen, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study, were selected. They were divided into control group (simple western medicine) and observation group (western medicine combined with Liujunzi decoction). After 3 months of treatment, pulmonary function, arterial blood gas analysis, TCM syndrome score, clinical treatment effect and the number of acute attacks within six months were compared between the two groups. Results: There was no significant difference in arterial blood gas index, pulmonary function index and TCM syndrome score before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the scores of pH value, PaCO2, cough, expectoration, shortness of breath and chest tightness in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of SaO2, PaO2, PEF, FEV1%, FEV1 / FVC in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 89.29% in the observation group and 73.21% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). No serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups during treatment. Conclusion: Liujunzi Decoction has a significant effect on the treatment of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with deficiency of both lung and spleen. It can effectively improve clinical symptoms and blood gas analysis index, improve lung function and control the development of the disease.
