Abstract Objective:To explore the effect of functional exercise on nerve root closure combined with intervertebral foramen in the treatment of obese patients with lumbar disc herniation. Methods: From December 2015 to December 2017, 80 patients with lumbar disc herniation were selected as study subjects. All patients were treated with nerve root block combined with intervertebral foramen endoscopy. According to the different intervention methods, each group was divided into observation group and control group with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were given traditional postoperative nursing care after treatment, and the patients in the observation group were treated with functional exercise intervention on the basis of the control group. After two courses of treatment, the patients were followed up within half a year after discharge, and the lower waist and leg functions of the two groups were observed and recorded. Spinal stability (including lumbar curvature). Kyphosis index, sacral obliquity angle, average intervertebral space height) And lumbar function (including residual lumbar leg pain, straight leg elevation, muscle strength, skin sensation and nerve reflex). Results: The total effective rate of lower lumbar leg function in the observation group was 95%, which was significantly higher than the control group's 72.5%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). And lumbar curvature (1.45±0.53) cm lower than the control group (1.81±0.59) cm, lordosis index (2.24±0.66) cm and sacral slope Angle (30.28±5.59) ° was significantly higher than in the control group (1.81±0.72) cm and (26.64±5.36) °respectively, and are statistically significant (P<0.05); In the mean intervertebral space height, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Residual lumbar leg pain, straight leg elevation, muscle strength, skin sensation, nerve reflex and total score were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Functional exercise intervention has a significant effect on the treatment of obese patients with lumbar disc herniation by nerve root closure combined with intervertebral foraminoscopy. It effectively improves the lower lumbar and leg motor function of patients, and largely improves the rehabilitation effect of patients.
