Abstract Objective: To investigate the application of staged nursing intervention in the treatment of diameter >20mm kidney stone through percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Methods: Total 40 patients with renal calculi larger than 20mm treated with ercutaneous endoscopic nephrolithotomy in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2016 were selected and divided into control group and observation group according to the randomization method, 20 cases in each group. The control group received the routine nursing intervention, the observation group received the phased nursing intervention. The anxiety and complications in the two groups were compared. Results: After nursing intervention, observation group SAS score was significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Observation group complications, the total incidence was 30.00% (6/20), significantly lower than the control group 80.00% (16/20), the difference was statistically significant (χ2=10.10, P<0.05). Conclusion: The phased nursing intervention can effectively improve the patient's bad mood, reduce complications, thus worth of further promotion in clinical practice
