Abstract:Objective: By measuring the some anatomical parameters of odontoid process, and to explore the anatomical factors of odontoid type Ⅱ fractures. Methods:Choosing 25 cases of odontoid CT imaging data of normal anatomical structures, 24 cases of odontoid fracture CT imaging data and fracture displacement <2mm. The posterior slope angle, the side angle, and the transverse diameter and anteroposterior diameter of the base of odontoid were measured using the measurement scale of the PACS imaging system. And comparing the diffe differences between the two groups. Results: The posterior slope angle of normal anatomical structures was 17.56±1.61 °, the left side angle was 118.84±2.78 °, the right side angle was 119.13±3.04°, the transverse diameter of the base of odontoid was 9.73±0.98mm, the anteroposterior diameter of the base of odontoid was 11.97±0.96mm. The posterior slope angle of occurrence of II odontoid fracture was 15.13±1.35 °, the left side angle was 117.97±2.66 °, the right side angle was 119.35±2.13°, the transverse diameter of the base of occurrence of fracture of odontoid process was 9.82±1.21mm, the anteroposterior diameter of the base of odontoid was 9.46±0.89mm. Conclusion: The occurrence of Ⅱ odontoid fracture is related to the posterior slope angle of odontoid process, the smaller the posterior slope angle is, the more prone to fracture. The occurrence of Ⅱ odontoid fractures is related to the anteroposterior diameter of the base of the odontoid process, the shorter the anteroposterior diameter is,the more prone to fracture . Ⅱ odontoid fractures have nothing to do with the left and right side angle and the transverse diameter of the base of odontoid.
