Abstract:Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of new stone needle therapy and conventional acupuncture therapy on chronic lumbar muscle strain. Methods: 80 elderly patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain chosen from January 2014 to January 2016 in the Affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical College were divided into observation group of 40 cases (new stone needle) and control group of 40 cases (acupuncture) according to the digital random method. The observation groups were treated once per 5 days, 3 times as a period of treatment, 3 courses of treatment in all. The control groups were treated 20 minutes for one time, once a day, 5 days as a period of treatment, 3 courses of treatment in all. After each course, the efficacy of two groups were compared and analyzed respectively. Results: The VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, the curative effect was better than the control group after second, third course of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (<0.05 P). Conclusion: The new stone needle therapy has more advantages than conventional acupuncture therapy for patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain.
