Abstract:Objective: To systematically analyze the outpatient-satisfaction-related factors and their relationships and establish the exponential model of outpatient satisfaction which is suitable for the current medical environment in China and test its reliability and validity. Method: Foreign studies on outpatient satisfaction were analyzed through documentary method to establish a tentative outpatient satisfaction evaluation system draft consisting of three grades of indicators and to make a questionnaire. Purposeful sampling method was employed to find proper respondents and then face-to-face interviews were conducted. Delphin Method was used to consult the respondents for three rounds and Results: were analyzed. Result: Outpatient satisfaction index evaluation system consisting of five structure variables as hidden variables and four dimensions as dependent variables was established. The relationship between outpatient-satisfaction-related factors and outpatient satisfaction was uncovered and the reliability and validity of outpatient satisfaction questionnaire were tested. Conclusion: The exponential model of outpatient satisfaction contains core factors involved in outpatient satisfaction. The model has general applicability and comparability and reveals the problems of outpatient department actually and vividly. The adjusted outpatient satisfaction questionnaire is reliable and feasible and can be used as a promising evaluation tool for outpatient satisfaction
