Abstract:Objective: To explore the expression and clinical significance of cyclooxygenase-2 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen in bladder leukoplakia. Methods: The expressions of cyclooxygenase-2 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen in 26 cases of bladder leukoplakia and 26 cases of normal urothelium and 26 cases of bladder carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry S-P method. Results: Two kinds of protein expression in normal urothelial were occasional, the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 in bladder leukoplakia was 46.15% and bladder cancer was 76.92%, the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen in bladder leukoplakia was 53.84% and bladder cancer was 69.23%. Conclusion: The expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen is correlated with the occurrence of bladder leukoplakia, and the occurrence and progression of bladder leukoplakia may be related to the occurrence of bladder cancer.
