Abstract:Objective: To observe the phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM1)-1 expression in testicular tissue of patients with different types of prostatitis, to analyze the clinical significance of detecting PGAM1 expression. Methods: Type I,II,III and IV prostatitis patients and healthy population of the testicular tissue specimens were collected. The level of PGAM1 expression was detected by immunohistochemical. The difference of PGAM1 expression in patients with different types of prostatitis was analyzed. The relationship between the expression of PGAM1 and the levels of follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone and testosterone was analyzed. Results: There was no significant difference in the expression of PGAM1 in the testis tissue of patients with typeⅠ(P>0.05). The expression of PGAM1 in testis tissues of patients with type II, III and IV prostatitis was significantly different from that in healthy people (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the levels of follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone (LH) and T hormone (P>0.05) in patients with type Ⅰ prostatitis (PGAM1). However, there were significant differences in the levels of follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone and testosterone in patients with type PGAM1, type III and type IV prostatitis (P<0.05). Conclusion: In addition to the patients with type Ⅰ prostatitis, the expression of PGAM1 of patients with type II, III and IV prostatitis was lower. The abnormal expression of PGAM1 had an effect on spermatogenesis in patients with testicular tissue. Therefore, the detection of PGAM1 has a certain clinical value in the diagnosis of patients with prostatitis.
