Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical value of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in different severity of diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) by randomized controlled study. Methods: 40 cases of patients selected Wagner 2~4 grade of DFU were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each of 20 cases. The treatment group was treated with VSD after debridement; the control group created by the method of wet dressing; 4 weeks of observation, to compare the two methods of different severity of DFU clinical effect. Results: The number of days in hospital, the number of dressing changes and the number of times of dressing change and cure time were significantly shorter in the observation group than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 100.0%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group of 80.0%, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: DFU using (VSD) basically to avoid major amputation and achieve guaranteed toe salvage and to retain the ability of action; VSD surgery treatment at all different severity of DFU effect is significant, hospitalization time and frequency of changing dressings reduce, and the total cost of health care has no advantage.
