Abstract:Objective: To observe the expression levels of glucose antigen 125 (CA125), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCA) in serum of patients with cervical cancer, uterine fibroids and healthy controls. Methods: Serum CA125, IL-6 and SCCA levels were detected in 96 patients with cervical cancer, 64 patients with uterine fibroids and 72 healthy controls, and the clinical significance of serum CA125, IL-6 and SCCA expression levels were analyzed. Results: There were significant differences in the expression levels of serum CA125, IL-6 and SCCA among the three groups (P<0.05). The serum levels of CA125, IL-6 and SCCA in cervical cancer patients were the highest (P<0.05). The serum levels of CA125 and IL were the highest in healthy control group (P<0.05). SCCA level was the lowest (P<0.05). The expression levels of CA125, IL-6 and SCCA in serum of highly differentiated, moderately differentiated and poorly differentiated cervical cancer patients were also different (P<0.05). The serum levels of CA125, IL-6 and SCCA in patients with low differentiation of cervical cancer were the highest (P<0.05), and the serum levels of CA125, IL-6 and SCCA in patients with high differentiation of cervical cancer were the lowest (P<0.05). There were significant differences in serum CA125, IL-6 and SCCA levels among cervical cancer patients with different pathological stages (P<0.05). The serum levels of CA125, IL-6 and SCCA in stage Ⅳ cervical cancer patients were the highest (P<0.05). There was no significant correlation between serum IL-6 concentration and age of patients with cervical cancer (r=0.096, P>0.05), but there was a positive correlation between tumor size and IL-6 concentration (r=0.697, P<0.05). Serum CA125 and SCCA were positively correlated with age and tumor size in patients with cervical cancer (P<0.05). Conclusion: CA125, IL-6 and SCCA play an important role in the induction, differentiation and development of cervical cancer. Detection of the expression levels of the above three genes in the serum of patients is helpful to judge and analyze the cervix in the process of monitoring the tumor characteristics and disease of patients.
