Abstract:Objective: To investigate the expression and clinical significance of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) MNX1-AS1 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: The primary lesions and adjacent tissues of 180 patients with NSCLC from Jun.2015 to Jun.2017,diagnosed by histopathology and surgically removed,were collected. Real time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the expression of MNX1-AS1. The relationship between the expression of MNX1-AS1 and the clinicopathological characteristics of NSCLC patients was analyzed. Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis were used to analyze the prognosis of patients with different expression levels of MNX1-AS1. Results: The relative expression of MNX1-AS1 in NSCLC tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues (P<0.001). The expression of MNX1-AS1 was significantly correlated with tumor differentiation,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis in NSCLC patients. The progression free survival,overall survival and 5-year overall survival rate of patients with high expression of MNX1-AS1 were lower than those of patients with low expression of MNX1-AS1 (P<0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that MNX1-AS1 level was an independent prognostic factor in NSCLC patients. Conclusion: MNX1-AS1 was highly expressed in NSCLC and was closely related to its pathological characteristics and prognosis. It might be a new biomarker for early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of NSCLC patients.
