Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical application effect of 3D printing in Paprosky III acetabular revision. Methods: 80 patients with Paprosky III acetabular defects treated with acetabular revision in the hospital between March 2015 and March 2020 were enrolled in this study. They were divided into control group (n=40, even numbers) and observation group (n=40, odd numbers) according to the odd or even hospitalization number. The control group was treated with routine total hip revision, and the observation group was given repair with 3D printing. Hip recovery of the two groups was compared. Results: The excellent and good rate of fracture end reduction in the observation group was 82.50%, significantly higher than 62.50% in the control group (P<0.05). The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and blood transfusion volume of observation group were significantly shorter/less than those of control group (P<0.05). After surgery, the improvement of Harris scores and NRS scores was significantly better in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). After surgery, ranges of hip joint flexion and abduction were significantly increased in both groups. Besides, improvement of ranges of hip joint flexion and abduction and bone coverage rate of acetabular prosthesis were significantly higher in observation group than in control group (P<0.05). 3 months of follow-up found that the incidence rate of complications in observation group (2.5%) was significantly lower than that in control group (20.00%) (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of 3D printing in Paprosky III acetabular revision can significantly reduce intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion volume, pain and postoperative complications, and promote postoperative recovery.
