Levels and Clinical Significance of Secretory Frizzled Related Protein 5 and N-terminal Pro-brain Natriuretic Peptide in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

Abstract：Objective: To investigate the correlation between serum sFRP5 and NT-proBNP and prognosis for chronic heart failure patients. Methods: During the period from May 2018 to August 2019, 75 patients who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital (south branch) of CDMC and diagnosed as negative for heart failure were made the control group. 89 patients with chronic heart failure were selected as the observation group. According to the NYHA (New York Heart Association) classification, the observation group was divided into three subgroups: NYHA II, III, and IV. All subjects were asked to fast for 10 to 12 hours. Fasting venous blood was taken in the morning, and fasting sFRP5 and NT-proBNP were measured and recorded. Results: The serum levels of sFRP5 and NT-proBNP in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group. Serum levels of sFRP5 and NT-proBNP increased with the severity of heart failure. Conclusion: sFRP5 and NT-proBNP are associated with the severity of chronic heart failure.
