Abstract:Objective: To investigate the application of mandibular marginal resection of mandible involved in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: 98 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma who received surgical treatment from May 2010 to June 2013 were selected as the study subjects. According to the different operation scheme was divided into observation group (given mandibular marginal resection) 48 cases and the control group (given mandibular segmental resection)50 cases, the clinical situation, operation index, 1 ~ 3 year survival rate and recurrence rate of patients in the two groups were compared. Results: The two groups of patients with pathological grade, pT stage, mandible affected by lymph node metastasis and other clinical cases, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05).In the observation group, the operation time and the amount of bleeding during operation, and the length of the distance between the tumor and the length of stay in hospital and the control group, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The observation group of 1 ~ 3 years survival rate and recurrence rate compared with the control group, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). Observation group patients after the overall self-esteem, life adaptation, social evaluation and comprehensive score were significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion: Mandibular marginal resection therapy involves the efficacy and safety of mandible in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients is better, but the clinical attention to its indications.
