Expression of Nuclear Transporter Protein KPNA2 in Colorectal Cancer Tissues and Its Relationship with Clinicopathological Features of Colorectal Cancer

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the expression of nuclear transporter protein KPNA2 in colorectal cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological features of colorectal cancer. Methods: 92 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to our hospital from January 2017 to March 2019 were selected as colorectal cancer group. Ninety-two healthy people who had physical examination at the same time were selected as normal control group. Samples of two groups of subjects were collected for immunohistochemical analysis, and the expression of KPNA2 was calculated for all samples. The expression of KPNA2 was compared between the two groups. The difference of KPNA2 expression among patients with different pathological characteristics in colorectal cancer group was compared and logistic regression analysis was performed. Results: The expression rate of KPNA2 in colorectal cancer group was 72.83%, which was higher than that in normal control group. The expression of KPNA2 was different in patients with different tumor size, differentiation degree, T stage, N stage and M stage. Tumor size, T stage, N stage and M stage were positively correlated with KPNA2 expression, while differentiation degree was negatively correlated with KPNA2 expression. All the above were P<0.05. Conclusion: The expression of KPNA2 in colorectal cancer tissues is significantly up-regulated. The high expression of KPNA2 is closely related to the size, differentiation and staging of colorectal cancer. It has certain diagnostic value in judging the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer.
