Abstract:Objective: To study the diagnostic value of ultrasonography in the discoid meniscus of the knee joint in children. Methods: 28 patients diagnoed as discoid menisci by MRI were examined by ultrasonography, the width and thickness of menisci were measured. Results: The ultrasonography results of 28 patients were abnormol. The the width and thickness of menisci measured between Ultrasonography and MRI were significantly different (P<0.05). Both of them were not consistent (Kappa<0.4). Conclusions: Ultrasonography can make relatively accurate diagnosis for discoid menisci in children, and can be an effective mean to detect discoid menisci.
