Application of Two-dimensional Speckle Tracking Imaging in the Diagnosis of Neonatal Asphyxia Myocardial Damage and its Correlation with Serum Troponin

Abstract:Objective: To explore the value of two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI) in early evaluation on myocardial injury of neonatal asphyxia. Methods: 70 cases of healthy neonatal (control group) and 70 cases of asphyxia neonates (research group) were studied. The cardiac function was valued by the color Doppler ultrasonography, and the serum troponin levels were measured by the automated chemiluminescence analyzer. Results: There were a positive correlation between total left ventricular systolic global longitudinal strain (LV GLS) and left ventricular output (LVO) (p <0.01), and a negative correlation between LV GLS and serum troponin (cTnI) in the research group (p <0.01). Conclusion: 2D-STI can quantitatively evaluate the myocardial injury and thus can be used to assess the cardiac function of neonatal asphyxia.
