Abstract:Objective: To study the short-term effect and safety of automatic ligation in the treatment of Ⅲ or Ⅳ mixed hemorrhoids. Methods: 116 cases of Ⅲ or Ⅳ mixed hemorrhoids patients in our hospital from June 2014 to August 2016 were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, 58 cases in each group. The control group was treated by Milligan Morgan (M-M), while the observation group was treated with automatic ligation of hemorrhoids (RPH). The operation time, wound healing time, hospitalization time, postoperative VAS score, total effective rate and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results: The total operative efficiency of observation group (93.10%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (77.59%) (P<0.001); the operation time, wound healing time, hospitalization time and postoperative VAS scores were significantly lower in the observation group than those of the control group (P<0.01); the incidence of complications of observation group (6.89%) was significantly lower than that of the control group (32.75%) (P<0.001). Conclusion: RPH is effective in the treatment of mixed hemorrhoids at stage Ⅲ and Ⅳ. It can promote wound healing, reduce postoperative pain and has high safety.
