Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of new dressing on the curative effect and calcitonin and white blood cell count in patients with orthopedic infection. Methods: From January 2017 to January 2018, 80 patients with orthopaedic infectious wounds were selected as the study subjects. 40 patients with orthopaedic infectious wounds were treated with traditional dry gauze dressing change as the control group, and 40 patients were treated with new dressing - silverion dressing change as the study group. The clinical efficacy, procalcitonin and leukocyte counts, cytoinflammatory factors, healing time, times of dressing change, hospitalization days and wound infection rate of the two groups were evaluated. Results: The clinical efficacy of the patients in the study group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the level of calcitonin in the two groups before the treatment (P > 0.05). After treatment, the average calcitonin water in the two groups was decreased, and the level of calcitonin in the study group was more obvious, the difference was statistical significance (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the leucocyte count level between the two groups before treatment (P > 0.05). After treatment, the leucocyte count level of the two groups decreased significantly, and the level of leukocyte count decreased more significantly in the study group (P<0.05); the two groups before treatment were statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the level of inflammatory factors (P>0.05). The improvement of inflammatory factors in the patients after treatment was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05). The healing time of the patients in the study group was significantly shorter than that of the control group, the number of replacement times was less than the control group, and the number of days in hospital was less than that of the control group. The infection rate of the control group and the wound surface was significantly lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with the traditional dry gauze dressing change, the new dressing change has better clinical effect and better therapeutic effect in the treatment of orthopedic infectious wounds. And it can improve the level of procalcitonin and leukocyte count and the levels of various cytokines, shorten the hospitalization time, reduce the number of dressing changes, reduce the rate of wound infection, and further protect the life and health of patients. It is worthy to be widely applied in clinical.
