Abstract：Objective: To compare venous luminal laser and traditional surgery in the great saphenous vein in the clinical efficacy. Methods: 90 patients with varicose veins were selected as the subjects. Ninety patients were randomized to 45 patients and 45 controls. The observation group was treated with intravenous laser therapy, the control group to the great saphenous vein ligation + segmental stripping treatment. The observation and evaluation index of the system: Intraoperative,; postoperative pain and recurrence rate of one year; postoperative complications; symptoms improved. Results: ①The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative hospital stay were significantly lower in the observation group(t=9.57, 12.54, 8.62, P<0.05); ②The number of postoperative pain and recurrence in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(χ2=9.24,P<0.05); ③The postoperative complications were significantly less than those in the control group(χ2=8.95,P<0.05); ④The postoperative complications were significantly less than those in the control group(χ2=9.75, P<0.05); ⑤There was no significant difference in the quality of life score between the two groups before treatment (t=1.13, P>0.05). After treatment, the two groups had significant improvement compared with before treatment (t=16.74, 22.74, P<0.05); The post-observation group improved more significantly than the control group (t=13.48, P<0.05). Conclusion: Intravenous luminal laser surgery is superior to traditional surgical treatment. It is a minimally invasive treatment method with simple operation, mild pain, quick recovery, less operative complications, low recurrence rate, safe and effective.
