Abstract:Objective: To analyze the clinical efficacy of folic acid in treating senile hypertension and influence on plasma homocysteine (Hcy) level and vascular endothelial function. Methods: The data of 90 cases with HTN treated in our hospital from February 2015 to February 2016 was retrospectively analyzed, and the patients were divided into two groups, the control group for 40 cases and the research group for 50 cases. The control group was treated with antihypertensive drugs, and the research group was treated with antihypertensive drugs combined with folic acid. The blood pressure, plasma Hcy level and vascular endothelial function of two groups before and after treatment was observed. Results: After treatment, the blood pressure, plasma Hcy level and vascular endothelial function of two groups reduced, but the research group was more evident than the control group, and the difference was evident, There's statistical significance(P<0.05). ET-1 level of two groups reduced, and NO, EID and FMD level of two groups improved. The difference was evident, There's statistical significance(P<0.05). But ET-1 level of the research group was lower than that of the control group, There's statistical significance(P<0.05). Conclusion: Folic acid in treating senile hypertension can not only evidently reduce Hcy level, but also improve vascular endothelial function, which is worthy of clinical application and research.
