Abstract:Objective: To explore the correlation between endoscopic gastric mucosal manifestations of Helicobacter pylori infection and 14C urea breath test result. Methods: A total of 102 patients with chronic gastritis from September 2021 to September 2022 were selected as the study subjects. Endoscopic examination and 14C urea breath test were performed, and 14C-UBT detection value was compared between Hp-positive group and Hp-negative group and the relationship between endoscopic manifestations of patients with chronic gastritis and 14C-UBT detection value was analyzed. 14C-UBT detection value was compared among patients with different types of gastritis. Results: The 14C-UBT detection value of patients with positive Hp infection was higher than that of patients with negative Hp infection (P<0.05). The 14C-UBT detection value of chronic gastritis patients with endoscopic plicae hyperplasia was greater than that of patients without plicae hyperplasia. The 14C-UBT detection value of patients with atrophy was greater than that of patients without atrophy (P<0.05). 40 cases of superficial gastritis, 9 cases of erosive gastritis and 53 cases of atrophic gastritis were detected among 102 patients with chronic gastritis. The 14C-UBT detection value in patients with erosive gastritis or atrophic gastritis was greater than that of patients with superficial gastritis (P<0.05). Conclusion: The 14C-UBT detection value of patients with chronic gastritis is correlated with Hp infection and endoscopic manifestations, and the type of gastritis is also related to 14C-UBT detection value.
