Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of deep muscle stimulation combined with Flexi-bar therapy on psoas endurance, pain and prognosis in patients with nonspecific low back pain (NLBP). Methods: A total of 100 patients with NLBP in our hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected and randomly divided into groups, 50 cases in each group. The control group was given routine rehabilitation training, and the observation group was given Flexi-bar therapy combined with deep muscle stimulation on top of the control group for 2 months of continuous intervention. Statistical comparison of visual analogue scoring (VAS), Oswestry dysfunction index (ODI), static and dynamic lumbar muscle endurance, lumbar EMG signals, pain mediators [β-endorphin (β-EP), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT)], prognosis was conducted between the 2 groups. Results: After 1 month and 2 months of intervention, the VAS and ODI scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the serum β-EP and 5-HT levels were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The psoas endurance and RMS of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the MF was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05); there was no significant difference in the SF-36 scores between the two groups before the intervention, 1 month after the intervention, and 2 months after the intervention (P>0.05). Conclusion: Deep muscle stimulation combined with Flexi-bar therapy can effectively relieve pain, improve psoas muscle endurance, restore lumbar spine function, and improve prognosis in patients with NLBP.
