Abstract:Objective: To investigate the levels and clinical significance of retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) and N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods: A total of 89 cases in the observation group were patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure in our hospital from May 2018 to August 2019,and a total of 75 cases in the control group were volunteers who underwent physical examination in our hospital during the same period.According to NYHA classification, the subjects in the observation group were divided into 3 groups:NYHA II (n=23),III (n=34),and IV (n=32).All subjects were required to draw fasting venous blood in the morning to measure and record fasting RBP4 and NT-proBNP. Results: The levels of RBP4 and NT-proBNP in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group, and the levels of serum RBP4 and NT-proBNP gradually increased with the severity of heart failure. Conclusion: RBP4 and NT-proBNP are closely related to chronic heart failure, and they are of great significance to the early diagnosis and prognosis of heart failure.
