Abstract:Objective: To investigate the diagnostic efficiency of combined detection of serum thymidine kinase (TK1),carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA),carbohydrate antigen (CA) 72-4 and CA242 for gastric cancer. Methods: 120 patients with gastric cancer who were admitted to the hospital from February 2018 to February 2019 were included in the gastric cancer group. Another 100 patients with gastric diseases who underwent gastroscopy in the hospital for stomach discomfort and 50 healthy adults receiving physical examination during the same period were included in the benign gastric disease group and the control group. Levels of serum TK1,CEA,CA72-4 and CA242 were determined. The indicators were compared between the groups and the diagnostic efficiency of each index was analyzed by ROC curve. Results: The levels of serum TK1,CEA,CA72-4 and CA242 in the gastric cancer group were significantly higher than those in the benign gastric disease group and the control group (P<0.05),without significant difference between the benign gastric disease group and the control group (P>0.05). In the gastric cancer group,serum indexes in patients with advanced gastric cancer were significantly higher than those in patients with early gastric cancer (P<0.05). The areas under the curves of TK1,CEA,CA72-4 and CA242 alone for diagnosis of gastric cancer were 0.781,0.764,0.769 and 0.719,respectively. The areas under the curves of different tumor markers for diagnosis of gastric cancer were larger than that of single diagnosis. The area under the curve of combined diagnosis of the four indexes and TK1,CEA,CA242 combination was larger. Conclusion: The elevation of serum TK1,CEA,CA72-4 and CA242 is witnessed in patients with gastric cancer. The combined diagnosis of these indicators can improve the diagnostic efficiency for gastric cancer.
