Abstract:Objective: To analyze the changes of residual cholesterol (RC) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and study the relevance of RC to ACS. Methods: A total of 300 patients with ACS who were hospitalized in the Department of Cardiology of our hospital from January 2017 to February 2018 were selected as the research objects. According to the diagnostic criteria, ACS patients were sub-grouped: acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction group (STEMI group), acute non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction group (NSTEMI group), unstable angina pectoris group (UA group), with 108 cases, 88 cases and 104 cases in each group. 100 patients with chest pain and without ACS were selected and made the non-ACS group. The clinical data of the subjects were collected and the differences of blood lipid levels among the four groups were compared. Results:The levels of total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and residual cholesterol (RC) in STEMI group, NSTEMI group and UA group were significantly higher than those in non-ACS group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in HDL-C and non-HDL-C (P > 0.05). The area under RC curve in ROC was 0.710, which was higher than other blood lipid indexes. Conclusion: RC is associated with acute coronary syndrome, and has a certain predictive value in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction.
