Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of Enhanced External Counterpulsation(EECP) on the cardiac function and prognosis of chronic total occlusion (CTO) patients with reduced ejection fraction. Methods: A total of 220 CTO inpatients with EECP therapy and a control group of 220 cases without EECP, which were consecutively enrolled from January 2015 to January 2019 in the division of cardiology in our hospital. The clinical data of the patients were collected and analysis. Results: There were not significant difference in smoking, hypertension and type 2 diabetes between two groups (all P>0.05). Compared to control group, left ventricular ejection fraction,6-minute walk test(6MWT) and B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP) were significantly higher in EECP group after therapy (all P<0.05). In addition, Point-biserial correlation analysis found that EECP was associated with 6MWT and BNP, which correlation coefficient were 0.454 and -0.523. Besides, the multivariate COX regression model showed that EECP was an independent protect prognostic risk factors of CTO with reduced ejection fraction and HR was 0.357(P<0.05). Conclusion: EECP therapy can improve exercise tolerance and cardiac function, which was an independent protect prognostic risk factors of CTO with reduced ejection fraction undergone PCI.
