Abstract:Objective: To observe the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin, two epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers and Her-2 in gastric cancer, and analyze the relationships between EMT and the clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer and between EMT and Her-2 expression. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of EMT markers E-cadherin and Vimentin in 198 cases of gastric cancer; at the same time, the relationship between the expression of Her-2 and EMT in gastric cancer was detected. Results: The expression of Vimentin in gastric cancer was higher than that of adjacent tissues, and the expression of E-cadherin was lower than that of adjacent tissues. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); The expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin had nothing to do with age and gender (P>0.05); the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin is related to the degree of tumor differentiation, depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05); The expression of Vimentin in Her-2 positive gastric cancer tissues is higher than Her-2 negative tissues. The expression of E-cadherin in Her-2 positive gastric cancer tissue was lower than that in Her-2 negative tissue, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: EMT phenomenon plays a role in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer; in gastric cancer, the expression of Her-2 influenced the expression of EMT markers.
