Abstract:Objective: To study the effect of micro-channel percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) on calculus removal and renal function in patients with complicated renal calculi. Methods: 121 patients with complicated renal calculi were divided into control group (n=58) and research group (n=63)with simple random method. The control group was treated with standard channel PCNL, while the research group was treated with micro-channel PCNL.The operation effects, stone-free rate, renal function before and after operation, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results: There was no significant difference in hospital stay between the two groups (P>0.05).The operation time in the research group was longer than that in the control group, and the intraoperative blood loss and visual analogue scale (VAS) 6 hours after operation were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).The success rate of primary lithotripsy in the control group and the research group was 87.93%(51/58) and 82.54%(52/63), and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Before operation, there was no significant difference between the two groups in creatinine and urea nitrogen, and there was no statistical difference (P>0.05).After operation, creatinine and urea nitrogen in the two groups did not change significantly compared with corresponding data before operation, and there was no significant difference in creatinine and urea difference between the two groups before and after operation (P>0.05).Bleeding, fever, urinary fistula and organ injury occurred in both groups, and the total incidence rate between the two groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusion: Microchannel PCNL has similar stone-free rate to standard channel PCNL in the treatment of complex renal calculi, and has no obvious effect on early postoperative renal function, less postoperative complications and more obvious advantages of minimally invasive surgery.
