Abstract:Objective: To explore the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] level and thyroid function status during pregnancy. Methods: 80 patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) admitted between June 2017 to April 2018 were enrolled in SCH group. Another 70 healthy pregnant women were selected as control group. The levels of serum 25(OH)D, thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) free triiodothyronine (FT3), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and free thyroxine (FT4) were detected at 24 to 28 weeks of gestation, and the relationship between 25(OH)D and thyroid function indexes was analyzed. Results: The level of serum TSH and positive rate of TPOAb in SCH group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05) while the levels of serum FT3 and 25(OH)D in SCH group were significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in FT4 level between the two groups (P>0.05). The vitamin D deficiency rate in SCH group was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05). The levels of serum TSH and FT3 and positive rate of TPOAb in deficiency group were significantly higher than those in insufficiency group (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the serum FT4 level between the two groups (P>0.05). 25(OH)D was negatively correlated with the levels of TSH and TPOAb (P<0.05), and 25(OH)D was positively correlated with FT3 level (P<0.05). Conclusion: Vitamin D deficiency in women with advanced pregnancy is closely related to SCH. Vitamin D deficiency and TPOAb positive may be important factors for SCH in women during pregnancy.
