Abstract:Objective: To analyze the correlation between HBeAg and HBV-DNA levels in patients with hepatitis B. Methods: A totol of 586 HBsAg positive serum samples were selected. The levels of the HBeAg and HBV-DNA were measured by the ELISA and fluorometric PCR, respectively. The relationship between the markers were analyzed. Results: Among the 586 patients, the detection rate of HBV-DNA in HBeAg positive group and negative group was 86.19 % and 29.46 % respectively, which showed there was significant difference (χ2=194.46, P<0.05) between the HBeAg positive group and negative group. The content of HBV-DNA in the HBeAg positive group was higher than in the HBeAg negative group. With the increase of the HBeAg content, the amount of HBV-DNA in the serum also increased(F=6.67, P<0.05). Conclusion: The HBeAg level is positive correlation with the HBV-DNA load. Simultaneous detection of HBeAg and HBV-DNA would be clinical most desirable.
