Abstract:Objective: To investigate the value of reduced glutathione (GSH) in the treatment of acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning (AOPP). Methods: 170 AOPP patients treated in the emergency department of our hospital from January 2013 to December 2016 were selected as the research object. According to the random number table method divided into two groups, 85 cases in each group, the control group were treated with routine treatment of atropine and pralidoxime chloride, observation group combined with reduced glutathione treatment, treated for 7 days. The clinical parameters and the changes of serum Cholinesterase (CHE) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) were compared between the two groups. Results: At the 24h, 3d, 7d, the CHE of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group, and cTnI were significantly lower, the difference was of statistically significant (P < 0.05); the dosage of atropine and hospitalization time in observation group were (258.69±114.27) mg, (10.13±3.24) days, significantly less than the control group (316.52±131.46) mg, (13.75±4.58) days, the observation group rebound rate (3.53%) was lower than in the control group (11.76%), the differences was of statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The reduced glutathione can be used in the treatment of acute organophosphorus pesticide poisoning, which can effectively prevent myocardial damage and shorten the course of disease.
