Abstract:Objective: To study the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on cognitive, speech and language abilities in children with early cerebral palsy. Methods: 61 cases of early cerebral palsy patients admitted to our hospital during the period from June 2014 to June 2017 as an example, which were randomly divided into two groups, the observation group of 31 cases, treated with routine therapy and hyperbaric oxygen combined treatment; 30 patients in control group were used routine treatment method. The effects of MMSE (simple mental scale), CRRC version of children's language development retardation assessment (S-S), and (GMF) total motor function score on cognitive, verbal and motor ability of patients were evaluated. Results: Using the conventional method of hyperbaric oxygen combined treatment of the two groups of patients after treatment, GMF score decreased significantly, S-S score and MMSE score after treatment increased, there was no significant difference between the two groups of patients before treatment, before and after treatment, there were significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: For children with early cerebral palsy, the hyperbaric oxygen therapy based on routine treatment can significantly improve their cognition, speech and motor ability, which is worthy of popularization and application.
