Abstract:Objective:To study and analyze the application value of high-frequency ultrasound imaging in diagnosing chronic sciatic nerve chronic compression injury. Methods: 60 cases of patients with suspected chronic sciatic nerve compression in our hospital from February 2016 to December 2017 were selected for the study. Among them, 30 cases with chronic compression injury of the sciatic nerve were confirmed as observation group by combined imaging and surgical examination, and 30 cases with chronic compression injury of non-sciatic nerve were control group. All the patients underwent high-frequency ultrasound and electromyography to assess the sciatic nerve injury. The diagnostic results of high-frequency ultrasound and electromyography in chronic compression injury of the sciatic nerve were observed and analyzed. The sensitivity and specificity of the two diagnostic tests were compared. Results:The sensitivity of high-frequency ultrasonography in the diagnosis of chronic compression injury of sciatic nerve was 93.33%, the specificity was 91.67%, the accuracy was 91.67%. The sensitivity of electromyography in diagnosis of chronic compression injury of sciatic nerve was 96.67%. The specificity was 93.33% and the accuracy was 91.67%. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:High-frequency ultrasound imaging has high application value in the diagnosis of chronic compression injury of sciatic nerve with high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy. It can be used as a routine examination method for sciatic nerve injury.
