Abstract:Objective: To explore the association of insulin resistance and anticardiolipin antibodies in patients with essential hypertension. Methods: 120 patients with essential hypertension in our hospital from February 2015 to February 2016 were selected as experimental group. 56 healthy subjects were selected at the same time in our hospital as the control group. The body mass index, fasting insulin and fasting blood glucose were compared between the two groups. Insulin resistance indexes were calculated in two groups. Anticardiolipin antibodies (ACA-IgG, ACA-IgM) levels of the two groups were compared. Assosiations between insulin resistance and ACA-IgG and ACA-IgM were analyzed. Results: The fasting insulin level and insulin resistance index in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The serum ACA-IgG and ACA-IgM in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Serum ACA-IgG level was positively correlated with insulin resistance (P<0.05), but there was no correlation between serum ACA-IgM level and insulin resistance (P>0.05). Conclusion: There's significant insulin resistance in patients with essential hypertension, and there's a positive correlation between the level of serum ACA-IgG and the level of resistance. It suggests that there is a tendency to thrombosis in patients with essential hypertension.
