Abstract:Objective: To analyze the anesthetic effect of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride in tonsillectomy and effect on postoperative cognitive function. Methods: 150 patients admitted to our hospital were treated with tonsillectomy as the study object from September 2013 to December 2016. According to the anesthesia method, all the patients were divided into experimental group (application of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride Anesthesia)and the control group(intravenous injection of saline), each group with 75 cases. The postoperative disturbances, cognitive differences of two groups were compared. Results: The recovery time of the patients in the experimental group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P <0.05). The postoperative agitation score and postoperative disturbance rate were significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group. The difference of cognitive function between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05) at 4 hours postoperatively and 1 day after operation. Conclusion: The anesthetic effect of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride in tonsillectomy significantly is obviously. It can effectively improve the patient's postoperative cognitive function score.
