Abstract:Objective: To investigate whether EGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRP and PEDF affect diabetic retinopathy. Methods: Serum EGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRP and PEDF were detected by ELISA in control, NDR, NPDR and PDR groups. Results: The serum levels of VEGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRP in NDR,NPDR and PDR groups were higher than control group, while PEDF was lower (P<0.05). The serum levels of VEGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRP in NPDR and PDR were higher than NDR group while PEDF was lower (P<0.05). The serum levels of VEGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRPin PDR were higher than NPDR group, while PEDF was lower (P<0.05). Conclusion: Hyperglycaemia induced VEGF,TGF2β,bFGF,TNF-α,CRP levels and reduced PEDF, which aggravated the pathological changes in retina.
